Authorities in New Mexico are expanding their investigation into Jeffrey Epstein's alleged abuses at his Zorro Ranch, amidst emerging claims from several local women and girls. Previously, only Rachel Benavidez was identified as a local victim.

Representative Marianna Anaya confirmed that they have been contacted by local alleged victims, strengthening the state's ongoing investigation alongside the New Mexico Department of Justice. This initiative aims to aid survivors in bringing charges against Epstein's co-conspirators.

Despite these developments, challenges persist. Maria Jose Rodriguez Cadiz highlights the difficulties faced in 2019 when around 45 individuals sought support from Solace Sexual Assault Services. Many were hesitant to report their cases to the police, reflecting a broader issue in reporting sexual crimes nationally.
