On April 18, Donald Trump stood in the Oval Office and signed an executive order to fast-track psychedelic drugs: ibogaine, psilocybin, MDMA, and LSD. Behind him stood Joe Rogan, the same man who two months earlier had called the administration's handling of the Epstein files “f---ing terrible.”
Rogan had texted Trump about ibogaine — a psychedelic he has called a "miracle" for addiction treatment. Trump texted back: "Sounds great. Do you want FDA approval? Let's do it." That’s the exchange. The order was written in less than a week.
Three months before Trump put pen to paper, the same administration’s Deputy Attorney General, Todd Blanche, personally intervened to block the DEA from releasing an unredacted document about Jeffrey Epstein’s drug trafficking operation. That document had been sitting inside the Epstein files since January. It names ketamine.
